“I am so jealous that i will mock her and also put the doubt in there” (:P)
This.
Pretty mild tactics, when you consider what’s been deployed against her before this. Getting her to think about the flaws in her plan, but still leaving her to think about it for herself. Jealous, mocking and bitchy? Yes. Coercive and evil? No.
And that is why Eric will always be the better man. For Sookie or for anyone. He doesn’t seek to dictate. He will point out the fallacies, and he will keep reminding her that there are other options, but he will hold off even exposing Bill’s lies, because to do that would result in deep hurt for Sookie, and that he doesn’t want. Love is a selfish emotion, but there are degrees of that selfishness, and, ultimately, when it’s real, the person you love will be a consideration, not a means to a self-gratifying end. Which is what Sookie has always been and will always be for Bill, and which she never is for Eric.
(will continue reblog the discussion but also because he is so unbelievable gorgeous here)
For all of those nervous that our Sookie will somehow end up with Bill in the end, I am utterly convinced just by the many observations made by astute fans it will not happen. Two key reasons I believe this, I am about to illustrate. Bill is associated with being a predator and darkness. When he comes into the hospital room after he very nearly kills Sookie, Claudette says “the darkness comes” and that Bill will steal Sookie’s light. Also, Bill has been juxtaposed in imagery against Sookie’s predator relative, Uncle Bartlett. On the other hand, Eric and Sookie are associated with golden light (golden satin sheets in the first dream sequence), and when they drink each other’s blood where do they end up? In the light in a bed in a forest. Eric’s influence on Sookie is associated with lightness. Whether or not Sookie ends up with Eric in the final season is really the only viable question. I do not for one second believe despite what he may put out in the media, that AB will sell our girl out to the darkness.
